Review: Love Me Back to Life

Love Me Back to Life (Circle of Friends (Barbour))

About the Book:
Join Mallory Carlisle on an unforgettable journey of hope and healing as she comes to terms with painful and devastating secrets from her childhood. This novel, connected to the Circle of Friends Ministry, will challenge your faith as you witness the redemption and restoration that is only possible through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

My Comments:
The term "Christian Fiction" covers a large waterfront, from sermons dressed up as stories to books that are more about Christians than Christianity. This one is much closer to sermon end of the spectrum.  It looks at how childhood traumas effect our adult lives--our relationships with each other and our relationships with God.  Mallory is obviously in pain even at the beginning of the story; her husband's pain isn't quite so evident. Both find healing through faith (and with the help of counselors).  I figured out pretty early on what the problem was, and given the type of book it is, I figured that healing would happen and it would be Jesus who made it happen.

Thanks to the publisher for making a complimentary review copy available via NetGalley.  I was not obligated to review the book at all, much less review it favorably.  Grade:  B-
